Deoghar history says Baba Baidyanath dham temple was constructed and taken care of by Gidhour monarchy within 1500 -1600 AD.

Deoghar was a halt for him for toilet purposes and he started but unable to stop himself in between the guy called Baidyanath who took the responsibility of Jyotirlinga after waiting for unexpected long time he put that shivling on the same place where he was and this was conveyed by lord Shiva to Ravana earlier that wherever you put this jyotirlinga, I will stay there and all this was planned by lord Vishnu on request of all God and goddesses to nullify the Ravana conspiracy.
And this is how Baba Baidyanath dham temple became one of the most prominent shivling worship places out of Dwadash jyotirling.
